Hi Kevin, I'll be totally honest. I LOVE all TIM games that marked my childhood and I LOVE the main Contraption Maker game. I created hundreds of puzzles myself and it has been one of my favorite game collections.
Therefore, my disappointment with the latest Incredible Puzzle Pack DLC was bigger. Literally 99% of the puzzles can be cheesed by using just one or two parts. It can't even be ignored because some of them are actually intended. Announcing that DLC as an homage to the original game and then offering such a bad untested pack is really disappointing, especially after such high standards...
Hi Kevin, I think it may have been Jeff that I contacted, back in 2019, about getting a non-DRM installer and site license for the school that I manage IT support for. I still have the installer and key he provided, and I assumed that ContraptionMaker died off not long after, so I was surprised to see today that it's still going / has been revived! It would be good to get an updated version. Do you have any current options for schools? Ideally it would be good to purchase a site license, and other schools in my (very large) district may like to do the same. It may end up being good exposure :)
Hi selfdestruktor, Work on the old Spotkin version of Contraption Maker which included the installer stopped a few years - probably not long after Jeff (or maybe Peter) got you the key. Updates have been for the Steam version and also recently the Epic and Good Old Games versions. Right now I'm the only person working on it so my free time is very low - jumping between current projects, adding things when I can to Contraption Maker, and regular life/family stuff (I really need to stain the deck this summer).
Anyway, you can contact me at: kevin@topm.com Maybe I can figure out something that'll work for you.
Hi Kevin, can you tell me more about the decissions to add new content to the game ten years after the initial release (pre-alpha) (like the current DLC's) and why it's no longer under the wings of Spotkin?
A few years ago Jeff (Spotkin owner) decided he was pretty much done with gamedev and handed off Contraption Maker completely to me. Jeff and I first started working together back when we owned Dynamix. Since then I've tried add content to CM when I have the time.
Thank you for the reply, and also thanks for showing up in the chat during my livestream a few weeks ago! I really enjoyed that. I'm posting one video each week, and I'll be posting the 160 puzzle pack DLC on the 4th of May. I bet you're going to be amazed about some shortcuts that I found ;)

I remember seeing some of the solutions people came up with to the original TIM puzzles - short cuts that I hadn't anticipated.
What OS of macs are supported? The game won't launch on 10.12 (Monterey). Thanks!
It was originally written quite a while ago for the 32-bit OS on Macs. I just went and updated the description here.
Thank you!
